Biography:

Hello! My name is Natalie Baxter, I am an MFA student in the Fine Arts department studying video art.  I was born and raised right here in Lexington, went away for college to the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where I received a BA in Studio Art focusing on video art.  I fell in love with documentary filmmaking while working on a film in Trenchtown, Jamaica and have continued to venture down that path.  After graduation, I headed west to Montana, where I worked a number of art related jobs from teaching 3 year olds how to paint to working with the Bozeman Film Festival.  I also became enthralled in the Native American Pow Wow culture and continued filming.  I returned to the Bluegrass State to attend the University of Kentucky for graduate school where I am continuing to create documentary work, this time in eastern, Kentucky.  I work in the College of Arts and Sciences with a group of wonderfully talented folks in Online Education's Media Mafia team.
